Comments, Likes, +1’s — You may have noticed that I haven’t been as responsive in the past week. There’s one huge reason for this — I’M OFFICIALLY A DAD! Our son was just born a few days ago, and my wife and I have been a bit more busy than usual. We are completely in awe of this little guy, and each late night and tired day has been an incredible adventure so far.
But, this blog is about micro four thirds photography, and just like my overnight bag, my camera bag was packed and ready to go the moment we needed to head to the birth center. I had my Olympus OM-D E-M5, the 12-40mm f/2.8, and the 25mm f/1.8 and 45mm f/1.8 prime. I thought I would want to use all of these lenses for different purposes, but let me tell you a little secret — I haven’t taken the the 25mm f/1.8 prime off my E-M5 for a week.
The Olympus 25mm f/1.8 prime is the single most versatile lens that Olympus makes. If you’re a regular reader or follow me on any social network, you know that I’m a big fan of this lens. You can get tight or wide with it, and the large aperture lets you get a nice, subtlety blurred background. With so much craziness this past week, lens choice hasn’t been much of a priority. Thankfully, I know that I can grab the camera with the 25mm attached and get a great shot. Here are a handful of my favorites!
By the way, the Olympus 25mm f/1.8 is only $299 at Amazon or Olympus US right now.
That’s an insanely good price for this lens. Get it while you can!
Regular readers know how much I love the Olympus primes, especially the 25mm f/1.8. This past week, it proved itself to be winner once again. Don’t forget to grab one from Amazon or Olympus US while it’s still just $299!
Do you have children? Maybe a newborn? What are your favorite lenses for photographing them? Let me know in the comments!
