Better late than never, right?
Wow, where did
2015 2016 go? No one told me that when you become a father, the years seem to tick off like minutes on the clock! (Actually, who am I kidding, everyone tells you that at the beginning 🙂 ) Still, between work, photography, family and a HUGE life changing move to the west coast last year, I feel like I haven’t had a chance to take a breath. In a couple months we will have been living in Portland for a year, and it’s only recently that I’ve felt like “this is where I live”, rather than “I’m on vacation”. I still have so much to photograph in and all around Portland, and as our son gets older, I hope to get out hiking and biking with him even more, which would let me share more of the beauty of this city and landscape with all of you.
I started doing a yearly photo retrospective back in 2013 on my personal photo blog, and last year posted my 20 favorites of 2014 and 20 favorites of 2015 here at Less Gear || More Photos, since I was shooting exclusively mirrorless.

I really enjoy these yearly retrospective posts as they give me a moment to pause and reflect on what I’ve done in the past year photographically — to see what I liked, didn’t like, and what I could potentially change or do better in the year to come.
I hope you enjoy my 20 favorite photos of 2016! These were all taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 and E-M5 Mark II. Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to keep up with what I’m shooting in the new year!
How was your 2016? What do you plan on shooting in 2017? Let me know in the comments!
